I suppose it's nice to have all the info you want on CD-rom but me being a cheapskate, I'd just browse the web for it. Over the last few years I've built up a useful list of sites to use for info. I've always found the answers to my queries that way and it's also useful to use forums to get other people's tips and ideas.

I agree with terrier, if you have internet access, I do not see any point in an Encyclopedia, unless of course, you are going to use it when offline or out of range of an internet connection. I use the online Encyclopedia www.wikipedia.org for any general info. I am not sure of, as for gardening, Google and its Images function seems to do the trick for me.

I agree with the comments above , everything is available on t'internet. Wikepedia is an excellent reference site. Also the BBC gardening section http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/. And Videojug gardening is worth a look for some videos http://www.videojug.com/tag/gardening. Of course you have the group knowledge of this place , it is very impressive ! [IMG]

Put me down with the consensus. The problem with encyclopedias is that they give only one point of view. I asked Pete about the hatdiness of a plant the other day and when I googled it I got 3 different views from 3 different sites. 2 of them had to be wrong but if I have a CD I can't do further research, I have to accept what it says even if it's wrong. In this case we have GC. Pete has grown one and it looks very healthy. He agreed with one of the sites that says it is hardy so my money is on that. Despite the RHS telling me it is not hardy I prefer to believe Pete. He's got the proof. A healthy plant.
