Just a bit of a break from the virus.

Someone’s analogy of the sexual activity of our plants.

Annuals live life in the fast lane ,with no time for decorum ,they want to find a mate in record time.Petals like gorgeously colourful party frocks ,are designed to get bees in a frenzy ,the brazen hussies put out landing strips and the equivalent of neon lights to guarantee the bee’s attention ,but once the bee’s have done their business petals fall ,tummies swell and their early demise means the survival of the species is all down to the next generation.

Biennials are more cautious putting down roots before committing to a family......sensible girls.

Monocarpic plants like Cardiocrinium or Meconopsis. These drama Queens who commit to spectacular suicide once seduced ,leaving their orphaned progeny to carry on the family line.

Perennials are more well adjusted glamour girls who’ve seen it all before.Well grounded in cosy stable homes ,they play it cool ,determined to have it all......lots of admirers a great spring, summer and autumn wardrobe and a long productive life.......What a life:spinning:.

I shall never look at plants the same again;).
