We went to Tatton Park last year, and whilst we have never been to one of these shows before, we will never go to another and will stick to the smaller local ones from now on.

The show at Tatton was great, lots to see and very interesting but it was just too crowded, okay for able bodied people but for Anne in her wheelchair it was a nightmare.

The trouble is, in crowds you cannot see a wheelchair untill your on top of it. Now everyone was very gracious and nice towards Anne but it does mean she could not move, if she had of done her chair would take big chunks out of people legs, so she had to wait for a gap to appear...which unfortunately was seldom, and if I cleared a path by gesticulating a little...it did upset people. So probably spoiled their day along with Annes.

So although they do state (and rightly so) its wheelchair accesible, it simply is not!

Thank you for the Scottish information, Palustrus.
There's a couple of things at the RBGE I would be interested in going to see.

Thanks, Woo. Detling was pretty manic last year. But maybe it just felt that way because OH came with me. :heehee: Never take a non-gardener to a show.
