Garlic

    Is it too late to plant out now ?

    I forgot to put mine in the ground before christmas !

    Normally they would go in the ground in September. So I think it`s either a case of plant them and see how they go, or bin them. Personally I`d plant them and see what happens.:thumb:

    It does depend what variety of garlic - some can be planted in the spring and you have nothing to lose by trying.

    Lautrec (Hardneck Garlic): Autumn to Early Spring
    Solent Wight: Oct - Mar

    (according to the growing instructions I got when I bought some from The Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight last year) I've surprised myself by finding the instructions amongst the chaos on my desk.

    I just planted my garlic in hanging cones this morning but the bulbs still looked ok and no sign of them showing shoots.
