Garlic

This seems to have been a disappointing year all round. So thinking ahead as I paid £1 each yesterday for 2 beautiful big garlic bulbs in "Sainsburys".:OUCH:
I am looking for recomendations for suppliers and types as I want to get my order in quickly to avoid disappointment :happydance:

 

I bought organic garlic from Sainsburys, a Spanish type, and planted that last October/ November, and it did well. It might be worth trying a bulb or two alongside the 'proper stuff'. I went for organic to see if the growth inhibitors I'd heard about would be a problem. Plus I thought if nothing had happened by March, I could plant some then.

A couple of years ago I bought 2 bulbs of Solent Wight from The Garlic Farm, which is on the Isle Of Wight. I was very pleased with the results, as each clove produced some rather large bulbs. The flavour was full, but not too strong, if you get my meaning. As it happens, quite a few folks on this forum use them, so they can't be too bad eh ?
