Garlic

Purchased 2 Elephant garlic which i was going to plant today, when removing outer layer i only had 1 clove on each. Instructions said, " open main clove and plant smaller cloves etc. Have i missed something

Elephant garlic are normally sold in packs of only 2 or 3 individual cloves for planting just as they are, so it sound like the same instructions may been used for both packs of elephant garlic and standard garlic (which for the latter would probably read something like 'break open bulb into individual cloves' - I got 25 cloves from a single bulb a few days ago).
