I'd like to find the person that coined that and wring their neck ... I recorded Ash/Oak leafing dates for a few years and ... the saying is complete tosh!

I don't know any old wives.

 

Always eat a live toad for breakfast , nothing worse can happen to you all day then.

 

Sadly if we lose all these trees, oak and ash, then this little ditty will be redundant.
