How long do posts remain on GC? There have been some very important and informative items posted and I wonder if they are still available. Many posts are simple chat and don't need to be kept, but some like the serious tips and techniques, WF's herbal remedies etc are permanently useful. A lot of work goes into writing them and it seems a shame to lose them. Can we look forward to a permanent indexed archive?
So far we can go right back to the start of GC and look at the very first posts- the only ones missing are those that the posters themselves have deleted, or those that the moderators have removed! I agree that an indexed archive would be great!
Hornbeam, As Liz said, the posts are still available, got o the top right of the screen and click on the tab beside 'show topics from the last 45 days', and choose 'Show all topics', this will then bring up all topics posted within that area, the one thing I cannot do, is bring back any pics that may have been posted, that people have removed from their image hosting site, ie the link doesn't exist any more. As has been said before, things will be moving forward, but as I hope you can appreciate, I have a business to run outside of GardersCorner, and it is that business that funds GardenersCorner, so my priority is working so I can at least keep this website alive.
Thanks Nathan - you are doing a great job and we are all extremely grateful to you for providing GC. Ever thought of subscriptions to help funding? I'm sure most of us regulars would be willing to contribute.
Have I got something missing on my screen as I don't appear to have a "show topics for the last 45 days" in the top right, or anywhere else that I can see? [ 24. September 2006, 10:46 AM: Message edited by: Lady of Leisure ]
Hi LoL, If you click on any topic title [eg General Gardening Discussion] then you will get the 'show topics from...' box. Try one of the original topics or look for posts from Nathan for interesting archive entries! It's very interesting to see how the site has grown...
Cant you attract gardening advertising nathan ?..especially now when the seed catalogues are due out ..or that sort of advertising from them ..which pays you a small revenue if we purchase anything off the companys advertising on here.. ?????
