The gardens are quite extensive and should be very much in bloom in July. It's worth a visit and we should have a good time.

They also have narrow gauge steam trains running around the garden, a steam museum, a steam carousel (for the kids amongst you :)) and a Dad's Army Museum. I don't know what extra cost there is for the trains etc.

How about meeting up at 10.30 in the car park (at the garden centre next door).

On that date there is an event for children but that shouldn't have much effect on the gardens.

I've put a link to the gardens, below, and a couple of links about the place.

The gardens have a small café and the garden centre next door has a small restaurant. You can also take a picnic which in good weather is very nice.

The garden centre used to be part of the gardens but was bought by Wyevale about 7 years ago. The garden centre is just a standard Wyevale so don't expect to buy plants from the gardens or to get anything cheaper. The plants that are propagated or split from the gardens go to a commercial/trade nursery.

I will have to run it by SWMBO, but you can pencil me in for now. I will (if def attending), be offering seats in the car for anyone who would like to go from my part of the country.

Think it would be pushing it a step too far if I absent myself for another day (when there is so much to do/be done around that time on the home front).

@Kristen Mrs Shiney says that if you're coming she will try and do some box cuttings and definitely bring along a lot of clippings for you to plant. The box seems to have suddenly started growing. :blue thumb:

Anyone coming from your part of the world who could give you a lift Joolz? I looked at times of train to Thetford (that will be en route for many folk, so someone could give you a lift from there, and it is a direct connection :) ) ... but first train departs 11:15 (Seriously?????!!) arriving 13:55 :(
