News for those who are fans of the late Geoff Hamilton - there's a new DVD out called Geoff Hamilton's Barnsdale Collection. I always liked him as he spoke to you and not at you and always left me with a feeling of renewed enthusiasm to get back out in the garden. Details are on the Barnsdale site.

Still miss Geoff. Wasn't the same after he'd gone on.

Ziggy, have you ever visited Barnsdal? It's on the road between Oakham and Stamford beside the Rutland Water reservoir and is well worth a visit. It's got all GH'S idea's on every aspect of gardening and you can somehow feel that he's still around.

Wrong side of the country for me Arm, will bear it in mind if I go in that direction though.

Am I right in thinking Barnsdale was a new plot that Geoff & the team turned from nothing into a garden when they outgrew the old plot? or am I getting confused with "All muck & magic" ?

    Hi WOO,

I don't know how Geoff managed to pass on his enthusiasm and love of gardening, but he did. He didn't lecture to people but managed to somehow be the knowledgeable friend that everyone wants living near them. After watching one of his programs I always felt re-infused and enthusiastic again! He knew he had a dicky heart but insisted on doing the charity bike ride on which he died. He's managed to leave a heritage that will go on for decades and I think he was a better man than me.

Hi TG, if you can't find it at Amazon you'll find it on the Barnsdale site. I'm thinking that it might not be on general release yet and might only be available on that site. I've bought it and I'm pleased with it. There's a lot of previously unseen footage on it and it's definitely is a good addition to the Geoff Hamilton collection.
