George Best

So Besty has passed away. If ever a man had a fated existence it was him. He seemed to have it all and yet it never seemed to make him happy.

I always thought that things might have been a little different if he'd been English and able to play in the International leagues - not that I know anything about football. It's just he had so much talent and never got to play in the big time. Such a shame!

alot of truth in what you say

 

I lost my brother nearly 3 years ago through alcoholism. His death was the most awful thing I have experienced apart from my mental health problems. HE DRANK HEAVILY ALL HIS LIFE AND WAS 49 YEARS OLD WHEN HE DIED. I nursed him for 2 years before and he just couldn't give up the drink. I feel sorry for George in one way but having had a transplant, I though he may have had the strength to abstain. Bless him anyway and may he rest in peace.

 

Sorry to hear that - I know the sadness of losing a sibling young - and it must be worse when its due to addiction.

 

What a terrible experience for you - my sympathies.
