George Michael has been sent down for 8 weeks because of his drug taking. It`s about tinme these egocentrics got the sentences the ordinary man in the street would get, He should be doing at least 8 months, instead he will be let out after 4 weeks.:old::mad:

    8 weeks in Jail !
    I couldn't do a day of it.
I don't think it's as easy as some people think. But if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
But yes, the law should be the same for everybody.

Remember Boy George in NY a few years ago, he only got community service!

I can't remember when a punishment last fit the crime here.

I don't think prison is the bundle of laughs that the Daily Wail would have it's readers believe. Like Alice, I doubt I could handle a day of it either.

Yes, George Michael deserves the custodial sentence, if only as a lesson to other celebrities. Although I doubt it will have much of a lesson - so many of these celebrities think they are immortal or at least above the law.

Why the comments about him being able to have all the men he wants, now he's gone to prison? Being gay does not make him promiscuous or desperate for the attentions of every man he meets. Inappropriate.

Well said Aaron. Also I think he has been made more of an example of than the "ordinary man in the street " whatever that means. I thought very few people went to jail for possessing cannabis.

Seems like a 'trial by newspaper' to me and just a tad vindictive. If all the drug addicts were jailed for this sort of incident we would need a few extra prisons to cope with the volume of offenders.

    Not sure what this achieves apart from the headlines.;

    Homophobia LOL

Its not his first drug offence or his first driving offence; he has a history of drug possession and of drug driving. If he was sitting at home having a quiet smoke, no one else would care.

The fact is this man smokes and then goes out on joy rides. He can do what he likes to himself, but he has no right to put other people at risk by driving while under the influence.

Back in 1979 Hugh Cornwell got sentenced to eight weeks in Pentonville simply for possessing drugs. He wasn't out joyriding; he was just a passenger in a car which was stopped at a routine road block.

I think it's time for George Michael to calm down a little. He should take up gardening.

He wasn't arressted for poccessing drugs, he was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs!
I don't care how hard people consider jail to be it is no more than he deserves.
I dont have an ounce of sympathy for him... he could have killed someone!
