Could someone please ID this for?
I,ve started on a spreadsheet to log all my garden activities, plants, veg, when where etc:
This plant I believe is of the geranium family.
Some cuttings where given to me a few years ago by a friend and this year it has flourished over winter in the conservatory.
    Thanks in advance

I'd agree with you Claire. The leaves don't look right for geraniums.

The flowers actually look like Pink Mini Cascade (an hybrid ivy-leafed trailing Pelargonium).

I collected Geraniums/Pelargoniums for many, many years and had around 60 varieties so have a myriad of books on them ... I also 'unfortunately' lived near a specialist centre in Oxfordshire .... Sis has been there and still has some of hers in Germany .... I don't have any here now.

A picture of the leaves, plus an overall of the plant would assist Robert.

Your description of the "Pink Mini Cascade (an hybrid ivy-leafed trailing Pelargonium)."
Seems to suit the plant very well

Now that you've posted a picture of the leaf, Robert, I am sure it is ... but I will go through my photo gallery in my books and confirm this in the next day or two so then perhaps you can document it. :)

Sorry Robert, I was looking for cranesbill leaves-I don`t have any pelargoniums, but after checking I will throw two in the ring ( and see if I can do better than last time)

P.peltatum ( I think thats an ivy geranium, but again probably wrong-as I don`t see the lighter centre on your pic)

    , or Dresden Pink.

Thanks for the chance to do some homework, I found a beauty-P.echinatum `Album`, I love those colours on a flower together.

    Hello again Robert

I've now had a chance to go through my colour guides to Pelargoniums .... one has 300 photos alone and another over 100! I still think yours is the Pink Mini Cascade as it is described as having 'single, narrow petals of rose-pink, upper petals with darker veins' ... which rather describes yours.

There are myriads of hybrids and here are a few images to boggle your mind (with some good links to Pelargonium centres ....

    http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=Ivy-leaf+Pelargoniums&js=1&ni=20&ei=UTF-8&y=Search&fr=b1ie7&xargs=0&pstart=1&b=1

On the ivy-leaf (P peltatum) varieties L'Elegante, Mexicana and Rouletta are usually readily available at garden centers there. There are also some beautiful Rosebud and Stellar varieties.

You could easily get addicted to them ....:)

    Hi Victoria,

I don`t think it fits with the peltatum fully, because it has a lighter centre which Roberts pic doesn`t.

Is this the one you mean-really struggling to find a good picture of one and this is the best I can find

Not sure it would be fair to lumber the poor thing with the appellation Yorkshire Robert ( ducks for cover) I think it looks more like the Dresden Pink myself, but Victoria is probably right ( because I`m usually wrong with these id things)

Must admit I do think Victoria may well be right with this one
When you compare the two close together
