Most of my perennial geraniums are now forming seedheads. Can someone tell me if they can be deadheaded to get some more flowers?

    Hello,
I usually deadhead regularly throughout the season - both to extend flowering and also to keep them neat looking.

    Good luck.

The two best Geraniums I have are called 'Patricia' and 'Rosanne'. There is a specialist Geranium forum in the US and they always come out top on that. They both flower for a very long period, partly because they are sterile hybrids - consequently there is no need to deadhead.

Like many, they are mound forming, but tend to flop a bit outwards. So this year for the first time I have tied them up a bit by putting 4 two foot canes at the corners and tied string round. They look more erect and definately better for it.

I find this page, of Bob Brown's, helpful. http://www.cgf.net/plants.php?genus=GERANIUM I also like his scoring. He mentions both 'Rozanne' and 'Jolly Bee' as tops. But I gather that they are different names for the same plant.
