Whats the best way to get them to germinate? In Tesco there were a variety of peaches called 'UFO', and I want to have a go at growing my own tree. Any hints would be fantastic :)

    Hi

Just so you know growing any fruit from seed means it wont be the variety "UFO" that it was picked from.

This tree (UFO) would of been grated onto a rootsstock to gurantee the shape colour texture of what the grower wanted , yours will be its own uniquie variety , it may be better than "UFO" or may be better in the compost bin.

If you want to have a go plant them in a 4 inch pot in the warmth multi purpose compost about inch half deep place in the "airing cuboard" as soon as it sprouts put in to a window sill but not full sunshine , slightly in the shade.
Do all that and then ask some more questions about what to do next
    Hop you find this useful

You could just put the stone in a polythene bag (the re-sealable type) with some damp vermiculite and put it in the airing cupboard or on a boiler; somewhere warm.

Wait until they germinate and then pot them up and keep them somewhere warm and light but out of direct sunlight.

I've done this with Date stones, Lychees, Peach stones, Necterines, etc...:thumb:
