Hello all, Richie here from Gateshead. Just thought I'd join the forum to pick up afew hints and tips. Not experienced by any stretch of the imagination, just finished totally revamping my Grans garden.

She lived on water board land, where theyre supposed to have gardeners, but since Northumbria water was bought by a french company theyve been cost cutting. Took matters into my own hands and done it myself, not an easy job but worth it :) Trying to make it as wildlife friendly as possible as theres plenty around for her to enjoy watching, from young hopping brown hares to stoat or weasel that prowls the banks around the cottage.

Now turned my eyes to my own garden, next big job is a pond and eventually elevated decking at the rear. Will post some pictures in the next few days.

Bit of a long winded introduction, hope I haven't bored you's.

    Richie

I'll take some pics when im next through, made the mistake of using finished in my first post, its actually far from it, but i think the hard works done :lollol:

The main objective was the make it abit more user friendly for her and ive done that, just getting to the cosmetics now.

Having a stab at growing various things this year in the greenhouse, whats peoples experience of growing strawberries in greenhouses? My original plan was to let them grow until the weather got alot better or until they start to flower, then move them out? I read if i left them in i'd have to self pollinate them?

Totally new to this, just gathering info :)

Hi Richie & [IMG] to GC.. We are a pretty friendly bunch on here as David says always interested in garden projects & ready to help.. So look forward to your pics.. I think I would harden your strawberry plants off to plant out as they are a hardy outdoor plant, yes they do need the bees for pollination & of course sunshine for that natural sweetness..!
