Same thing happened to me in ASDA - the shop assistant asked if she could get me an item from a high shelf - I was in my mid 40's at the time and as I'm over 6' tall could easily reach the item. I didn't know what to say :noidea:. Still, better to be asked than not.:blue thumb:

It's when they ask you whether you need a wheelchair that you want to worry!

My reply was with a big smile and a cheeky wink"I'm old not dead" which was greeted with lots of laughter from the young assistant;)

@wiseowl , just seen this, I wouldn't take offence or see it as a slight on your abilities. I think it's a sign of companies trying to deliver better customer service. :)
They might be going around it the wrong way but I think competitors are starting to realise we would like a bit of ' good old fashioned customer service ' :snorky:
As for bag packing, let them do it, I say :blue thumb: As long as my bread isn't squashed :heehee:

The Iranian barbers in the village have just cut my grandsons hair . A work of art , cut very smart with sharp razor cuts - he will get told off at school for it being a little severe tomorrow.
When I go they say a quick snip and a slap and polish on top, sir ! They make me pay first ( senior rate ) now as well , in case I don't make it to the end :snorky:

This is what all of you 70+ year-olds, and yet-to-be kids have to look forward to!! This is something that happened at an assisted living center.
The people who lived there have small apartments but they all eat at a central cafeteria. One morning one of the residents didn't show up for breakfast so my wife went upstairs
and knocked on his door to see if everything was OK. SHe could hear him through the door and he said that he was running late and would be down shortly so she went back to the dining area.
An hour later he still hadn't arrived so she went back up towards his room and she found him on the stairs. He was coming down the stairs but was having a heck of time.
He seemed to have trouble getting his legs to work right. She told him she was going to call an ambulance but he told her no, he wasn't in any pain and just wanted to have his breakfast. So she helped him the rest of the
way down the stairs and he had his breakfast.
When he tried to return to his room he was completely unable to get up even the first step so they called an ambulance for him. A couple hours later she called the hospital
to see how he was doing. The receptionist there said he was fine, he just had both of his legs in one leg of his boxer shorts:hapydancsmil:.

I'm always happy to ask for someone to carry things to my car.

When I buy large bags of compost, usually 4 x 70 litres at a time, I always ask for someone to take them from their stock and put them in the car. The response is always an immediate 'Yes' :blue thumb:. Sometimes it's one of the young girls that loads them for me. I've only ever once been asked how I get them out of the car when I get home. :heehee: That's a good question but easily answered as I just slide them out of the boot onto a wheel barrow - the floor of the boot is almost level with the boot edge.

One time, in amongst the shopping, I had a bottle of booze. As it went through the checkout, I said to the assistant “aren’t you going to make sure I’m old enough to buy that?”, so she asked for some ID. That’ll teach me

I always take several bags to Tesco's.

Would you like help with packing?

                                Yes please.

How do they manage to get it all in one bag?

Have to admit. Some women are very clever with their hands.
