    Hi folks,

Suggestions of getting rid of the dreaded dock and creeping buttercup? I've got a large amount of C.B on a part of the lawn shaded by my shed, and have a lot of dock at the top of the garden, near a newly planted pear tree :( Is it glyphosate time, or will the lawn feed and weed work just as well, without affecting my edibles (veg patch is surrounded by grass, and concerned about the pear tree).

    Thanks :)

I reckon Verdone Extra will take care of them (without killing the grass too)

But don't compost any of the clippings, or put them in the council bin, for months (just leaving them on the lawn is fine)

Lawn Weed & Feed will only be worthwhile if the lawn is more than 50% weed - otherwise, in my opinion, you are paying to weed the proportion of the lawn that actually grass! - rather than applying weed-killer to just the weeds!

It's funny really, the most open part of the lawn, consists of a lot of moss, whereas under the apple trees, where it's very shaded, is the best lawn in our garden :D I need a scarifier and aerator methinks.

I'll keep an eye out for that Verdone stuff :)

I'm not that familiar with killing weeds in lawn (himself looks after the grass), but from my experience of creeping buttercup and dock elsewhere I would be surprised if anything but glyphosate will kill them, and sometimes that takes more than one go with docks. Docks don't like being mown, though, whereas the sneaky CB flattens itself under the blades.
