We've had a bird table for ages and can watch the birds feeding (and fighting!) from the kitchen window and although I could see them pretty well, Mrs W who isn't a front runner in the optics league couldn't distinguish them very well. Yesterday I mounted a small table on the window sill. What a difference! Apart from bringing things closer to Mrs W's eyeball it also brings the birdies closer to my camera.

Excellent Dave. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Just love the position of the first one ... bit knock-kneed! :D

I'm sure both of you are delighted with the results ... keep the photos coming.

Ta folks, Looks like I'm going to have fun. The birds are getting bolder all the time and there is one young female blackbird that doesn't seem to bother even if we are just a couple of feet from the window and bird table.

Dee - my camera is 9MP, so yours should do just as well. Get a tripod and play about with manual control.

Yep Roders - Looks like window cleaning will be have to be a bit more regular now

Whis4ey - Your bird photos were partly responsible for me thinking about closeups.

Didn't know you were a moggie lover Pal. Luckily our geriatric cat is thick as two short planks, sleeps all the time and even if outside is so slow he couldn't catch a cold.

Pushing the resolution a bit on this one -

Not quite as sharp as I'd have liked -
