sainsburys have this recipe which sounds really nice i think i am going to make it instead of xmas pudding..

Try crumbling Sainsburys gingerbread men over the top of your trifle for a sweet and crunchy finishing touch

Sainsburys easy way for when you're short on time

    Gingerbread decorating kit
    Trifle

    Jamies twist, serves 8-10:
    8 trifle sponges, sliced
    large punnet of strawberries, sliced
    100ml Cointreau/orange juice
    135g pack strawberry jelly
    4 pints of milk
    8 tbsp sugar
    2 x 35g sachets strawberry blancmange
    Bag of clementines, sliced
    135g packet orange jelly
    80g custard powder
    284ml double cream
    100g gingerbread

This trifle takes about 4 hours but its well worth it, promise!
Put sponge fingers on bottom of bowl. Scatter with strawberries and some Cointreau or orange juice. Tear strawberry jelly squares into a measuring jug, add 300ml of boiling water until dissolved then add 300ml of cold water. Pour jelly over sponge. Put in fridge and allow to set.

Bring 2 pints of milk to the boil. Pour a little into a separate bowl with 4 tbsp of sugar and blancmange, mix until dissolved. Add remaining hot milk to blancmange, mix and keep whisking. Return to pan, whisking as you bring it back to the boil. Pour blancmange back into its bowl and cool for 5 minutes whisking occasionally to stop a skin forming. Pour on top of layer of strawberry jelly. Pop it in fridge and allow to set.

Arrange Clementine slices on top of set blancmange layer. Make up orange jelly the same way as strawberry jelly. Allow to cool, pour over clementines and leave to set in fridge. Once set, make custard using the remaining milk, sugar and custard powder. Make same way as blancmange, cool and pour over orange jelly.

Whip double cream until you get soft peaks. Spread it over the custard and crumble gingerbread on top.
