My Globe atrichoke has finished producing now. a good crop of 8 heads. - Should I cut it right down to its stocking-tops now or leave the foliage to die down in Autumn?

    Hi Alex,

I'd leave it to absorb the nutrients from the leaves back into the roots, but if it hasn't finished doing that when the frosts are near then cut it back & cover it with a pile of leaves or simliar.

Because it was so mild up till the snow came last year, mine got taken by suprise & I lost one to the cold.

covered both with a pile of leaves but only 1 came back.
