glory lily

    i purchased a glory lily (gloriosa rothschildiania) from B&Q a couple of month ago have it in a cold greenhouse. Nothing has happened yet!. Flowering is between July and Oct and the hieght is 100 to 150cm. Is it to early to start growing or am i just panicing being a novice?

    Has it been planted for two months, if so it could have rotted, cold wet compost is not good for them.
    Have a rummage around carefully and see if a shoot is on its way.

    there is no shoots on it but the compost is wet and warm.do you think i should bring it in to the house?

    If its wet and cool there like it is here I would say yes.
    It comes from Africa, so likes to be warm or hot even in the growing season and cool and dry in the winter.
    Put it back in the greenhouse if the summer ever comes. [​IMG]

    thanks for the advice pete. Ill bring it in and see how it turns out. Ill e mail you Waco whwen i get any signs of life. this is the first time i have asked a question and i,m madeup i got a reply thack lads
