          I grew a glow in the dark mushroom kit last year, it was the one in the second picture, a kind if bracket fungus. I never got any 'shrooms but the mycelium did glow very faintly ( only detectable in a completely dark room after your eyes had adapted).

          On the serious side.....The problem with these as street lights is - you can't turn them off! Also if they go on sale to the public in the future everybody's gardens will be lit up, aren't we supposed to be reducing light pollution, not creating it? I for one like night time to be dark, all the road lights here on the island go out at 12.30am and it's one of the few places in Britain you can see the night sky with all it's stars. :)

            I was at a Festival in some woods where we found rotting wood that glowed in the dark. Some people made glowing necklaces out of it, but even just to hold it like it was a handful of glowing coals was really, err far out man.
