Anyone know of a good chemical to get glue off jam jars? Was thinking petrol or white spirit but haven't tried yet.

I just soak the jars in a soda crystal solution: works for me.

I just soak the jars overnight in hot soapy water
Works for most ex Jam jars, however some have an adhesive rather than glue, then in the morning after the soak just scrape it off

Will try the nail varnish remover first as it's in the house, white spirit after as it's in the garage and then if that fails some effort and scraping lol

Pineapple juice dissolves most things, including parliament if you use enough of it.

I always pictured the Queen holding a bottle of battery acid with an evil smile on her face :snork:

"We are about to dissolve Parliament."

Just for future reference... nail polish remover doesn't get rid of it but white spirit does :)

Nail varnish remover no longer has any acetone in it, health & safety, white spirit is usually effective!!
