    An interesting read Spruce. Even though there are doubts as to the experiments validity we should take it as a warning that GM crops are not the way to go, especially for our own consumption.

    It also looks like we could lose Roundup as well. Now, that will be a heavy blow to a lot of farmers/gardeners!

    Its outrageous that a 90 day test is considered enough to say that something is safe.

    On that basis, a rat that smokes for 90 days & doesn't seem to get ill would be enough to conclude that smoking tobacco is safe.

    The reason for the roundup test Sheal, is that the GM crops have been modified to be resistant to it, letting them spray the entire field and only killing the weeds.

    Apart from the old arguement that resistance could be passed on to weeds, making a super weed, it means that roundup can get into the food chain.

      Was it said that GM crop would feed the world, why is it that the USA crop were not very good this year because of the drought :stirpot:
