Going to Chelsea?

I was up at the show on Monday, working on Jo Thompson's Caravan Club show garden. She had a surfeit of helpers so I had plenty of time to look round. I reckon, despite the economic gloom, it's going to be a great show.

Although far from finished, Cleve West's garden was looking fabulous. His planting is imaginatively stunning. If I don't get sponsorship for my own garden next year, I want to work on his!

BTW, Jo Thompson's garden's going to be beautiful too!

 

I'd be much more likely to visit Chelsea if
a.It was in the Midlands or readily accessible location.
b.It went on for longer to spread the crowds out a bit.

I'd love to go and see the cutting edge of gardening art but wouldn't fancy the crowds. I think it's fantastic that my hobby is national news once a year.

Will it be on the spare BBC channels does anyone know?

 

Looks like it's going to be on BBC1 and BBC 2 Zig. British commercial stations aren't allowed in. When I did my last garden, the local ITV station had to interview me when we were loading the plants into a van at the nursery! However, I have been filmed, at Chelsea, by an Australian TV co.

some amazing gardens/planting schemes on those photos .... I especially like the one with the pond and the sedum/grass on the gazebo thingy ...

would love to spend a day there

 

I've been both as visitor and on an exhibit stand and both are very tiring but either way I always had a grea time.
think I'll try Hampton Court next year.
