Hi all, just wondered if anyone has had any success with Goji Berry plants. I've had mine for four years now and not even a flower or fruiting bud in sight :( The plant grows like crazy, but then lets me down. Can anyone tell me how to get this blighter to fruit? Thank-you for your time.

Hi Antonig , we had this conversation before , some of us have managed to get 5/8 fruit after 5/6 years , last year mine was full of flower , but totally fail to produce fruit .
I think it`s a plant on the edge that will only produce fruits in a hot spring and summer .

Thank-you Sal, I will keep the plant in the hope we manage to get a summer sometime soon :) The Goji is 4/5 years old now so with a bit of luck I wont have to long to wait for a result, who knows? They really are fast growers, but like you say, fruit from these plants appears to be something of a challenge.

Would feeding with high potash fertiliser help, perhaps? Tomato food or the like...
It doesn't just kick-start flowering and fruiting but helps the plant to ripen wood for the following year. Even with the long, hot summers here, I've only had a handful of berries from 2-year old shrubs..but here's hoping that the yield will improve

Hi Noisette and welcome to the garden corner, I start to thing that the problem is in the pollination , my plant was covered in flower , but at the time no bee or other insect was pollinating them , many other member had only 5/8 berry out of them plants , makes me thing that the 5/8 berrys where actually pollinated by the wind ....

but this is jut my idea.

      Thanks sal73:) .
You could well be right about pollination..I hadn't thought of that! Let's hope we have a better summer this year, with lots of buzzy things to do the necessary...
