    I bought this this morning.
It looked quite tasty, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Just wondering what I did wrong, I cooked it according to instructions.
But it tasted like what I would assume a bit of greasy cardboard would taste like, in fact it was chewy, tasteless, and I think they forgot to add any cheese or peppers, although you could see something like that in amongst dough.

Does anyone else buy this stuff, or was I just the latest one to be caught out?

I threw most of it onto the shed roof for the birds, but even the starlings avoided it.
Then a flock of passing sea gulls came along and presumably dragged it of for valuable nesting material. ;)

You obviously need some hens, they'll even fight over Pizza Hut leftovers.

        You were robbed!

Mozzarella cheese is a very bland cheese, so I wouldn't have expected you to be able to *taste* it as such. As for red pepper, they tend to be mild in flavour too.

Have you knackered your taste buds over the years pete? :noidea:

It's not the best Pete. It is improved if you drizzle a little very good olive oil over it when you remove it from the oven. And heat it up on a pre-heated pizza stone too.

Stick to their date and walnut loaf in future.

What is the point of a bland cheese?
I've roasted pepper myself and they do have a taste, but this stuff was just not worth the effort, I thought maybe it should be eaten with some other strange concoction with some flavour.

Olive oil tastes of nothing also

Not seen Date and Walnut bread before.

              It may be possible :heehee:

Tastes sublime. Not cheap, not for frying eggs but in its right place it is worth keeping some. Mashed potato made with a good olive oil is lovely.

I agree. But I would describe mozzerella as a mild cheese. I would describe mild cheddar as bland. The original subject of your post may have been more to your taste with some parmesan grated over it?

I really never understand all the TV gourmet chefs raving over Buffalo Mozzarella , it really is a bland tasteless cheese. You can't beat a nice bit of Wensleydale Gromit , or Lancashire or Cheddar or Stilton.........................................

I've been eating Somerset crunch lately.
But I wasn't really expecting that kind of thing, just a nicely flavoured bread.

I've tried Morrisons cheese sticks, and they have flavour, I've also tried the the one that has a rice type coating, forgot the name.

But this stuff was just awful.

Frankly you can't beat any good cheese! It is getting harder though - most cheddars taste highly processed and have a texture to match. When was the last time that you bought a good old fashioned hard cheddar that got the top of your mouth throbbing?

Yeah, I remember the stuff that used to burn the roof of your mouth.

Has health and safety banned it?

because you cant seem to find it anymore.

Hi Pete, I have tried that pizza bread a few times. Although the little taste perceivable is allright, there are very little ingredients at the top and it is very dry.

As far as Mozzarella is concerned, it is supposed to be in big lines tasteless. But that cheese has long production times and it has to be made with excellent milk and consumed very fresh to have the proper taste, although a very light taste.

If somebody is interested in purchasing excellent mozzarella from Italy, I can find it.

We have an artisan cheese maker who comes to our Saturday market twice a month who makes an excellent "proper" cheddar.
The Co-Op does a really good extra mature Gouda that does the trick.

And Bacon, can't get any decent Bacon these days. What happened to all those boney bits you used to get? Where's the rind? When I cook it, it usually develops into a frying pan full of water, before it boils away.....I'll get me coat ----->
