    Hi all, I have a bound copy of the above which belonged to my father, it makes fascinating reading, not just the articles but some of the ads. It was published monthly, about 64 pages, cover and centre pages only in colour, price 6d.

    One example which caught my eye, Chas Daborn & Son of Bisley, Spring sale;
    Roses; Bush 8d each 7/6 per dozen, Standards 2/- each or 6 for 11/6.
    Some of the varieties sound familiar too;
    Caroline Testout, Betty Uprichard, Etoile d' Hollande,
    or how about Gladioli, 12cm 2/6 per 100
    or 6 year old grafted Wisteria, 8' high 2/6 each.

    Does this firm still exist?

    Anybody got a time machine, we could make a few quid.
    I was thinking of trying to scan or photograph some of the pages and post here if the Webmaster thinks this would be OK (copyright after 72 years?) failing that I could try and post a precis of article(s) and some ads weekly if there is sufficient interest.

    Cheers MIKE

    I love those old books. The suggestions of then would be totally ourageous now. One of my old books from the 1920's suggests using hemp as a boundary screen? Can't see that going down well these days, especially if I could keep it for very long with all the uni students around. :D
