good idea or bad idea??

hi,this probably sounds mad but ive ordered some straw to put around the garden for winter and was wondering if it would be a bad idea to put some on the floor of my greenhouse aswell? i dont have a heater and wondered would it keep more warmth in or cause more condensation ?? advice needed plz x thanks x

 

If you put it down while the ground is still warm it would keep most of the frost off the soil.

Worked outside last year with 4 inches of wood chip, dug the spuds after the snow & only 1 had frost damage.

 

id be putting it on top flags in the greenhouse thou :o i was wondering whether it would make it warmer or no diff at all......:o .....or if any1 has maybe tried it ?? xx

 

I`d try it, What do you have to lose? Don`t use it in conjunction with a paraffin heater though.

Anyone see Monty insulating his greenhouse on Gardeners World tonite ?

 

il not use a heater x i just watched monty bubble wrap his greenhouse which i didnt know u could do so il be getting some now :D x

 

Bubble insulation is better 1/ because it helps keep the greenhouse frostfree in winter and. 2/ acts as shading in summer, ergo, keeps it cooler.

 

wheres the best place to buy it(cheapest),anyone know :D ..its a defo better idea than straw you learn so much on here thanks xx
