    Good morning to everyone here.

I'm a complete beginer as far as gardening is concerned. My girlfriend and I moved in to our first house in January and I'm now finally considering the opportunities that lie within our small back garden.

All I've done is cut the grass twice with a little flymo given to us by my parents. The lawn was covered in weeds (I pulled a few out) and the grass is a little uneven in level and thickness.

With your help I'm hoping to get the lawn sorted first, then look at what else the garden has to offer in the long term.

I'd love to attract wildlife to our garden - I have a bird table and feeder station at the moment - we have two robins that visit together, but don't feed together. One stands on lookout on the fence while the other feeds, then they swap. Most strange. But wonderful.

Anyhow, I'm jabbering on here - all I wanted to do was say hello!

    So, hello!

Hi Iain. Welcome to GC. Don't ask me about lawns, I'm the gravel king, but we have a couple of specialists. Hope you enjoy it here.

    Hello there Iain!

    Welcome to the G.C. family!

If you are into wildlife and garden birds there is a nice section specially devoted to this on the site - it's my favourite part.

Enjoy yourself here and lets see some photos of your garden as it develops.

    Kath

[IMG] to the forum Iain looking at your profile I'm interested to know if we have a budding magician in our mist it all sounds so magical...OMG I'm so corny sometimes!

Anyway I'm sure in no time at all you will be able to turn your little patch of grass into a stunning piece of greenery although maybe not as quick as abracadabra but good things come to those that wait and I'm sure someone on here will help you out.Good luck.Hel.xxx.

Ha ha! Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

Rabbit from a hat, I can do. Flowers from my sleeve, coins from thin air, flames from my finger tips no problem.

Weeds from my lawn? Now where's my book of spells...

I'd post your lawn problem in the 'Lawns' thread Iain. More likely to get it answered.

Hi Iain, welcome to the GC forum. If you peruse the 'Lawns' thread you will probably find your answer already there, or maybe you already have [IMG]
