    Hello
I planted two Gooseberry bushes in early 2008 when they were little more than sticks. As expected I did not get any fruit from either in the first year. This year I had a small number of small fruits from each bush (One bush is Invicta and the other is a purple dessert variety). The question I have is should I be pruning them this year or should I let them grow for another year (They are still quite small)?

    thanks in advance

    Kieron

I didn't prune either of my goosegog bushes, and now they are a scraggly mass of old wood. They are a couple of years or so old now, maybe I can resurrect them.

If I'd know when I got them what I know now, I'd have pruned them I think.
