    Hope someone can advise.

My daughter is quite keen for a GoPro.
She did well in her year end exams in July. And it's also her birthday coming up

Did a bit of a pricing exercise online

The 2 main models seem to be a:
    Hero 5 @ approx. £225
    Hero 6 @ approx. £500

    What is the difference?

Is the H5 sufficient for general usage?

    Thanks

As far as I can tell, the 6 has a higher frame rate (60 fps), and is able to do slow motion video. The 5, is still 4k, waterproof to about 30ft without a separate case, and is (as GoPro's generally seem to be) tough as old boots.

The H5 is MORE than sufficient for general use in my opinion, and at £225 is very keenly priced (currently £299 on GoPro's own website)

Gopro 5 or Gopro 5 Session? You should be able to call into a Jessops and discuss the difference between them.

Is your price for a grey import? (That would need mailing back to Hong Kong if anything went wrong with it). Or from USA which will attract customs charges and VAT, etc.?

Are you going to surprise your daughter or seek her advice in advance?

          Is on Amazon Prime £255
          So must be local supplier?

          I think is the session
What's the difference between that and the 5?

I think calling Jessops is a good idea.

Hero 5 Session is that same price from John Lewis but with 2 years warranty. You may also be able to get them them to price match Currys :yikes: lower price of £229.50

GoPro HERO5 Session Camcorder, 4K Ultra HD, 10MP, Wi-Fi, Waterproof at John Lewis

          Never Knowingly Undersold

Jessops should also price match Currys

          Price match - Jessops

P.S. I've used both their price matches in the past, got my local Jessops to reduce a camera lens by £150 and still got their 50% off lens filter when you buy lens offer, used small reduction using JL price reduction to buy very cheap 2 years accidental damage insurance (£15?) + got their extra years product warranty.
