I managed to squash my considerable bulk onto the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch miniature railway at the weekend and visited Dungeness...a very odd, rather arid place dominated by the power station and dotted about with bungalows in various stages of preservation (or dilapidation!). However the gorse in this area was abundant and in full flower and looked gorgeous. I usually see this shrub growing in areas where the soil is poor and wonder if it's one of those plants that needs little nourishment in order to appear at its best. Would it, in fact, do badly in good soil?

No it grows well anywhere I think.
I had a large bush in my front garden for years, it grows pretty fast though, and needs clipping, not a nice job.
    Hence, its not there now.
Can be a fire risk, it burns well.

    I like Dungy.:thumb:
