Got my veg patch back woohoo

Hi all, eventually got membership validated My old house used to have a large rear garden with a fair size veg patch which kept a family of 5 going in veg and greenhouse. Downsized house when kids flew the nest, current house only has a small back garden and kids recently covered it in decking cos my back problems wouldn't let me dig. 30 years later I've got my veg patch back although a bit smaller, a 1.8 mtr raised planter (Vegtrug) which sits on decking nicely, no more bending and heavy digging, I'm happy as a pig in s...muck Decided to join Gardners Corner as I'm sure there must be some new tricks to learn these days, seems a lot of useful info here so I'll just lurk for a wee while.

I bet having your raised planters have been a blessing for your back

I'm new to all this gardening and have taken on a very big garden so at the beginning of this year I started my own veggie garden..... with little experience ... I grew enough to feed the whole of Hampshire and my poor freezer is bursting at the seams!

Like you and having had a go I think raised planters somewhere else around the garden will be better for me too and will just grow the correct amount for just two of us

Would love to see some photo's of what you have done and look forward to catching up with you in the forums...

I knew a few guys from there before I retired from the buses. I'm about 20 mins away

 

I ran out of Marine, 44's when I done them terminated at Eastfield/Joppa. Before deregulation they didn't run out of the city.
