gourds

    we have 4 gourds growing in the greenhouse and there all massive taking over the place with plenty of flowers showing but the flowers blossom close go brown and drop off

    any ideas guys ??

    Yes, you will need to hand pollinate gourds if you grow them in a greenhouse. I grow them outdoors where insects can do it naturally, this year has been great for them - I have some that must be over 12 foot high, growing up some trees.

    Are you growing Gourds for the kids to enjoy their ugliness (thought yours were old enough to have "moved-on" from gourds?), or for some other purpose?

    how hardy are gourds will they survive up here in the north ok and when should we be sowing them for next years crop to be planted outside
