Grafted toms

    Hey guys have any of you used grafted tom plugs I have seen then and like the idea I was thinking of getting three to see if they really are as good any thoughts on them ?

    That thread was more about DIY grafting rather than buying plants. Overall I would say give it a try and I'd be very interested in your results.

    Where have you seen these grafted plug plants, online or in a GC? I'd like to know how much they are selling them for this year.

    Benefit of grafted Tomatoes is generally that as a Greenhouse crop they are more disease tolerant, and as such you don't have to change the soil in the greenhouse.

    If that isn't an issue for you (growing in containers, or not growing in greenhouse soil) then I think the Hype about increased yield and earlier fruiting is not worth paying the extra for ... save your money!

    However, keep an eye out a bit later in the season, last year my local garden centre were flogging off HUNDREDs of grafted Toms that they hadn't sold at knock down prices ... would be worth buying some then :)
