Still jet lagged got home late Tuesday but have had a wonderful time drove a lot of miles seen such a lot of different spectacular scenery.

We took a flight through the Grand Canyon for an 1 hour it was breathtaking.

Once get my head round the photos shall share with you.

We got cought up in a serious frightening experince a thunder and lightening storm so bad we had to stop the car as we could not see the line or cats eyes on the road.

Next day we spoke to a ranger and she said we or anyone should not have been driving on the road.

If this had started before we left to go to our next hotel we would have jsut stayed where we were.

I certainly would not like to see that again we never get weather like that here.

Look forward to seeing your pics too Skotkat, it's on our list, hopefully in a couple of years time. We went to the States two years ago and had 2ins of rain dumped on us in two hours in Central Park and had to virtually wade back to our hotel so we know what weather they can throw at you over there. Like to hear more about it. [IMG]

Just a taster of the view we saw on our plane ride we took for 50 minutes through the Grand Canyon spectacular.
We took so many photos difficult to choose.

Hope you enjoy as much as we did.

You can see the Colarado river below.

Yes we did get a photo taken with our family group.
Not with all on the plane. No one was sick but to start with it was very bumpy.

    It was just so amazing.
May I add congratulations for your 10th Anniversary when ever it was.
Saw the chapel on the strip as we were driving to our hotel Monte Carlo. No wedding going on at the chapel.
Just bare with me for more photos .

Super photos Scotkat.....We 'did' the Grand Monuments tour about 5 years ago ...and the Grand Canyon was my favourite. We took a clear bottomed helicopter ride and actually landed in the Canyon for a champagne lunch ...the sights were awesome. We went to Monument Valley (where a lot of the old westerns were filmed) Death Valley, Lake Tahoe and numerous other places ....the natural sights were, as I say, awesome....our hotels were superb, the service was mediocre and the food .................... abysmal .....but we are spoilt here !! M-L

Its a fantastic place scotkat, had a spell in the eighties when I went there a few times, as they say its "Awesome" and wild.
Oftern thought that if we had it over here, Health and Safety would make us put a fence round it. :D

Here are some more wonders.Hope I have posted different photos foryou.

    Enjoy.

Pete you are so right for safety way too close to the edge and no barriers.

Never thought of that at the time, just awesome.

    Memories forever.

Apart from the heat in Death Valley it was magnificent, the colours in Artists Drive stood out no matter where you looked vibrant every artists dream.
