I have planted a grape vine in the greenhouse it is about 3 feet high already with stems shooting out of the sides, what is the best way of dealing with this plant to hopefully get some fruit off it at some time. We are in the north of scotland by the way.....

You'll need to gen up on the pruning they require. I've planted one this year too, and I'm going by the RHS "Pruning" book by Christopher Brickell [general book, not just vines, but it has 4 or 5 pages on vines].

Although I expect all that info is available online.

I am planning to train mine up to, and along, the roof, rather than the side wall - thus leaving the side wall unshaded, and free for low crops such as Peppers and Aubergines.

[Oggy, a grape vine is going to dominate a greenhouse quite quickly, some vines were grown to help provide shade, rather than just for the grapes. I think that being as far north as you are, the loss of light will restrict your use of the greenhouse with things like tomatoes, chillies and aubergines. I hope this doesn't sound too negative but it is worth bearing in mind before the vine starts to mature, there is some useful info on the RHS website, just google' rhs grape vine pruning ' and good luck with the vine.

They grow lots, but you prune 90% of it off, so its not as though the plant is going to add that much "length" every year :thumb:
