    Hi..

If there is something offensive to gardeners in this post please tell me because another gardening forum just banned me for posting it.. :S

I recently had a lawn laid. It arrived in rolls, grass was unrolled and everything went green. A week later 'grass flowers' started appearing in the grass.

    Is this normal?

Secondly, before I laid the glass I tore out the garden, unfortunately a few seeds or roots weren't completely removed. As a result a few weeds are already coming through the grass. What is the best way to remove these without killing said grass?

[IMG] Jason.. Well all grasses will flower whether lawn or otherwise.. Have you kept your turf well watered every day since laying it..?
If you have, it may need a light cut.. Have a look HERE it is very helpful....

I have kept it pretty well watered, it all looks healthy enough.

Thanks, I just wanted some reassurance. The gardener did a pretty bad job and I just wanted to make sure we hadn't been completely done and given some sort of wild turf..

So with weeds in the grass. Should I be getting some sort of pesticide? I don't want to kill the grass but I don't want the weeds to take root and spread either.

 Well I wouldn't put on a weed & feed yet Jason, normally we do that twice a year..
I would wait until you are sure it was well rooted first.. If you have a few weeds popping up you will chop most off with the mower this summer, or why not very carefully cut out any weeds & their roots until you can weed & feed in the Autumn..
I feed twice yearly, once in the Spring with a Nitrogen rich lawn feed, and once in the Autumn with a feed that is high in Phosphorous and Potassium. I use Westland feeds..
