I have a Stipa Gigantea in the garden doing well, So well I have to dig it up end of the year and donate it to my mothers large garden as its drowning my grass section. I knew it would be big (gigantea by name!!...) it looks fantastic but bigger than expected in my smallish garden.

I have tried to sow some of the seeds from it , any tips or anybody had luck with trying to grow one of these from seed?

    Hi

With the seeds place on top of the soil (Seed tray I have used in the past as they seem to root better than a deep pot) then cover with fine grit.

I thought always best to move a grasses in the spring just as it starts to grow best time to split them up as well.

They dont like getting moved Autumn / Winter and you may lose it
