Greetings from Cyprus! I wonder if anyone could help us to recognize this plant, because we have never seen it anywhere else in Cyprus. The plants grow by a small creek, blossom in April. The flowers have a very sweet smell and attract a lot of bees.

Thank you so much in advance!

    Thank you

    Dear Silver Surfer,

Thank you so much for your help identifying the plant. Judging by the pictures, it's what you say - Phacelia tanacetifolia :yess:. And it explains why we have not seen it anywhere else in Cyprus: it is not native to Cyprus, it's brought from Mexico/Southern USA (which is not surpriving given how many prickly pears we have around, also brought from Mexico). Somebody must have planted it there for bees, we live in a honey producing area.

Thank you so much indeed, without your help we would still be wondering...:dbgrtmb:
