Apparently one of those glass topped chest freezers works really well. With all the heat it composts so fast you really have to keep on top of it though.
I haven't tried it yet, so don't hold me responsible if it goes wrong!

PS sorry if this has been poster elsewhere, I couldn't see it anywhere but I'm new to the site [IMG]

Hi Lottie and welcome to GC. I'll stick to my dalek composters. I have about 5 at present and I think they are wonderful things.
PS What exactly does a herbalist do?

Well it's like being a doctor, we have to learn all the science but our consultations are longer (half an hour to an hour) and at the end of it the patients gets their herbs either in the form of a tea, powder, juice or usually a tincture which is a super strong concentration of 1 or more herbs preserved in alcohol. In the consultation we ask about the patients lifestyle and diet aswel as their complaints and we base our diagnosis on everything.
Herbs take longer but they work on more levels. Aspirin for example, originated from the willow tree, but the Willow has a constituent in it which protects our stomachs from the irritating effects of the pain reducing constituent. This is why herbal extracts in the form of tablets don't really work, as they don't have all the constituents for the full synergic effect.
