First apologies for silly question, basically if a green house is not heated does that make it a very big cold frame :dunno:.
I'm asking as DD's want to plant some seeds, all I have is sweet pea's, however it says if sown now they are to be overwintered in a cold frame, which I don't have, so would a non heated greenhouse work, thanks in advance.

Now don't take it for gospel Sparra but i think DD's will be fine sowing them now but maybe wait for someone who knows better:dbgrtmb: at the end of the day an unheated GH is like a big cold frame...maybe when the weather gets colder you could make a 'tent' over them..just for a bit of extra protection:dbgrtmb:

Hi Loli, they are just eager to plant :dancy:Iv tried to explain it's the wrong time of year, I have one of those plastic blow away mini ones inside the big greenhouse, perhaps I should just let them go for it, I have only had the greenhouse up for 3 days, they have already taken it over :th scifD36::huh::heehee:, thank you for your help :dbgrtmb:

Sweet Peas will be fine in cold greenhouse, although personally I think its a little early for Winter sowing, and I think they do better sown very early in the Spring - less chance of mice and all sorts having a meal off them too!

Take some cuttings now perhaps ?

Could sow some seeds of Hardy Annuals - packets of seed in The Garden Centre group (formerly Wyevales) are reduced to 50p per packet in their Autumn Sale ...
