    Hiya,

just wondering the views of you all on green manure?

Our allotment is pure clay on one side and was wondering if sowing a deep rooted green manure would help to break it down a bit for us. We've kind of left it fallow at the minute until we can get the energy up to do something with it.

    Thanks
    Kerry

Yes Iv'e used it, to be honest I can't remember which type it was but I spread the seeds over the suggested area and it grew, then I dug it in!!..It is supposed to give the soil various nutrients so it can't do any harm.

I have also got some funukreek (sp) to sow when I next go to my allotment.

You could maybe find out which type would be suited to your problem.

    Happy allotmenting...
