    Hi All,
Can anyone help with this. I have recently found patches of green slime on top of the lawn. I suspect it is from the spores of a bulbous fungi that had appeared but has now burst. Can anyone help??

Fungi do not produce chlorophyl so nothing green comes from them. It is probably algae and you need to spike your lawn with the tines of a garden fork to improve drainage. Lawns can get hard panned very easily by being compressed when people walk on them.

Richard you can also sweep lawn sand into the holes after using the fork, which will also help with drainage

    Richard. Rake the lawn first
Sweep the lawn second with a hard broom ,then aerate it .with a garden fork, fill the holes with
lawn sand only if the soil is heavy clay, substitute with peat if it is sandy soil.
Be carefull with the lawn sand as it contains a fertilizer, just a little.
