I found this green slime today over my Armeria -really weird . I've never seen anything like that before in the garden ?Is it some kind of animal secretion, Fungus or what ?
Any ideas would be appreciated .

@martyn bromley I think it could be Nostoc algae.. It is harmless and pops up all over the place and is one of the original life forms.. It appears when the weather is wet and warm which we have been experiencing lately..
When it is wet on the ground it forms a colony, not often seen, but after a rain with nitrogen it swells up into a jellylike mass, which was once thought to have fallen from the sky: Like devils and angels hence the popular names, star jelly..! :) Well I think so anyway.. I get it on the rockery sometimes.. :ouch1: It usually turns brown as it dries out I think..:dunno::whistle:
