green slime

    hi, can anyone tell me why i`ve got some like green slime on top of the soil in some of my pots in my greenhouse????

    we all get green stuff or white stuff on top of soil, could be all sorts of things, too wet, a bit of mould, check you are not over warering.

    Just break up the top 1/4" (6mm) of soil. The aeration should help the surface layer dry out and the slime (it might be an early stage of moss) should at least be controlled. If it's really bad then add sharp grit to the top of the pot as well and cut down on the watering.
