Having inherited a greenhouse with our new house i have stuck some cuc's and tomatoes in that i grew from seed.
They are in growbags watered early morn and mid evening. the cucumbers are growing like wildfire 1 a day! but the toms arent going red and theres hundreds of them, the plants are at the roof. Why:(

    Hi daznjo,

Mine haven't started turning yet, despite being an early variety. Not been the sunshine that we normally get, day after day of cloud cover:DOH:

funily enough, the outside ones are just turning red.

The other thing is that there may be too many of them. Did you prune any of the side shoots or stop the tips ?

Just picked our first ripe toms today and normally start picking late June - early July. There's not been enough sun this year to ripen them early but they will ripen in due course.
You could try increasing feed or adding extra potash or even hanging some ripe bananas near the plants ( the ethylene gas produced accelerates ripening).
