Just in my greenhouse which i keep heated between 5-10C....looking at my pelargoniums and noticed greenfly and whitefly on them!! Is that normal at this time of year???

Should i move the pelargoniums to my cold frame instead?

I find greenfly fairly common on protected plants at this time of the year.
I keep an aerosol spray handy as I hate wetting plants that are basically dormant and in cool conditions.

Thanks @pete first time having a heated greenhouse so wasn't sure. Although the pelargoniums haven't gone dormant....they've all kept flowering!

Yeah, pelargoniums dont really go dormant as such, just a few sunny days and they perk up, I assume you are keeping them fairly dry at the roots?
Best to tackle the greenfly now, as the population will explode come March in the greenhouse.

Yep-minimal watering. Only a dribble when they've gone bone dry. Turned out only two had greenfly/white fly. Chucked hem outside in an empty cold frame after spraying them. Sprayed everything else in the greenhouse too just in case.

I had Greenfly on Cannas in my unheated greenhouse until I got fed up with waiting for them to die down (both Canna leaves and Greenflies), so I cut them down to soil level and got rid of them both.

I often get greenfly at this time of year on the freesias in the unheated greenhouse.

Also, whitefly are always around. I always take plants out of the greenhouse to spray them as there are plants in there that mustn't get the spray on them. With those I wipe the aphids off by hand.

I don't use chemicals on plants in the garden so the greenhouse plants are taken out to the footpath for spraying.

I noticed greenfly on one plant in my heated greenhouse last weekend, gave them a quick spray to stop them spreading.
